Per June Quinn Lahti: Both Willy and Archie would cut hair of male family members, out in the back yard sitting on barrels. Archie was eccentric per the family stories, he never washed his hands and when he cooked he would put it straight onto the stove instead of into a pan. They always said he was so healthy because he ate so many germs (innoluculated). Willy and Archie would always saw big logs in the back yard with a 2 man saw with huge teeth. And they always had a dog. Archie had a good heart though and loved little animals. | Champagne, Archille "Archie" (I16972)

property and a house on one end and the barber shop on the other. He let his sister Grace make a garden on the land one summer. He resisted union organizing attempts for barbers and they
threw a stink bomb into his shop one night. The family had to work very hard to get it cleaned
up. He and wife moved out to Gratiot Twp to a store, barbershop out there. On Gratiot almost to 23 mile rd. Between 21 and 23 mile road.

But stupid for marrying Henry Loyles, he beat her and she would have bruises and cuts on her face and she had to escape in the night. Also that Henry was half black - they went west for a trip and visited his mother who was as black as the ace of spades. He had black features, large nose and lips but was medium skinned with light hair that was very curly like a poodle. He died falling out of a tree, he was a landscaper and Uncle Joe Chancey (mom's brother) was working for him at the time. He broke his neck and he was a Marine per Bob Muehring. | Champagne (Champine), Ida "Adel" (I16968)
