The family lived on the South Shore but religious events were performed at Ste. Anne's church on the North Shore. Assumption church, was a mission for the Indians on the South Shore from 1728 to about 1765. The family began attending mass there then. St. Antoine's parish at Monroe MI was founded in 1788
